Today's business and legal environment no longer allows companies to sit back complacently and merely react to situations that occur. The time, the cost and the exposure to risk make such inaction prohibitive. Court decisions as well as the constant challenge to existing law requires that we become more aware and be in a stronger position to respond when challenged.

The Improved Construction Practices Committee (ICPC) is a group of delegates drawn from the membership ranks of NACM-Tampa and SACM. Our primary purpose is to promote good, sound and equitable legislation, particularly as it pertains to the construction industry.

ICPC and its lobbyists have taken on the task of defeating bills that would have significantly weakened the Florida Construction Lien Law and have passed favorable legislation throughout the years strengthening and clarifying both lien and bond laws for the protection of the industry. The results have produced substantial savings for us all in the protection of our company’s assets. The funding for this effort was provided by a handful of members along with contributions from the NACM-Tampa and SACM offices.
