| NACM Professional Certification Program: The Career
Roadmap Progression Leading to Professional Designations and Accreditation For business credit practitioners there are three nationally
recognized professional designations. They are Credit Business Associate (CBA)
supervisory, Credit Business Fellow (CBF) management, and Certified Credit Executive (CCE)
senior management.
To get started on the career track simply remember the three basic steps: (1) Career
Roadmap Points; (2) Course and/or experience requirements; and (3) An examination. The
process begins by registering with the National Institute of Credit (NIC), the nationwide
accrediting and academic awards agency of the NACM.
The Career Roadmap is the approved vehicle to guide practitioners toward earning a
designation for each skill level from supervisory to senior management responsibility.
Point values are assigned to each of the following categories and facilitate career
progression:
Work experience and special interest
Participation, local and national
College and continuing education
Special consideration activities
Application for designations must include a Career Roadmap, NIC Registration form with
fee, an indication that official college transcripts are being sent and a resume. Roadmap
points needed for each designation level are:
75 Points - Credit Business Fellow (CBF)
125 Points - Certified Credit Executive (CCE)
