Kim has been practicing law in Georgia since 2001 and is the founding member of the Perez Firm, LLC.
Before forming her own firm, she worked as a law clerk with the Georgia Secretary of State's office, as
an associate at the law firm of Weizenecker, Mottern & Fisher, P.C. in Atlanta, and as a founding member
of Shaw & Perez, LLC. She has extensive experience representing contractors, subcontractors, individual
homeowners, homeowners' associations, and home inspectors in a variety of real estate-related disputes,
many involving five and six-figure claims. Cases that fall into this category involve breach of contracts,
liens, construction defects, fraud in the buying process, and failure to pay for work performed. In her
career, Kim has given seminars and written articles on a variety of real estate matters. She currently
authors the Georgia Home Law blog.
Kim is also of counsel to Fair Construction Liens, LLC ("FCL"). FCL was created in order to serve the
construction industry's need for an efficient and inexpensive process to prepare construction liens. Kim
heads up FCL's operations in Georgia. To learn more about FCL and the construction lien process, go to
